Karleen Bentley Yawn, age 80, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away, Wednesday, February 17, 2010.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Burial followed in Pine Level Church Cemetery in Oglethorpe.
Karleen was born on November 27, 1929 in Macon County, GA to the late George Albert Bentley and Chessie Hamby Bentley. She was a bindery operator at Corporate Printers inCumming, GA and worked at Citizens National Bank in Montezuma for 16 years. She delivered audio tapes to shut-ins and carried her famous pound cakes to shut-ins. She was a member of Whitewater Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tina Marie Yawn (John) Brockett, of Florence, KY; son, Mickey Yawn of Atlanta, GA; step-son, Andy Yawn of Hawkinsville, GA; two sisters, Margaret Bentley Farmer of Waverly Hall, GA and Helen Mann of Oglethorpe, GA; two grandchildren, Ben and Sam Brockett also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hank Yawn.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Whitewater Baptist Church, 1955 State Route 128, Oglethorpe, GA 31068.
