MONTEZUMA, GA - Julia Jeanette Black Cross, age 92, of Montezuma, GA passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Flint River Hospital in Montezuma after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 PM at Oglethorpe Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the service in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Crisp County, GA on August 23, 1920 to Reuben Black and Girlie Peacock Black. She was the last surviving member of her family of ten children. She retired from nursing having worked at the Macon County Clinic, Montezuma Healthcare and The Oaks Nursing Home. She was a member of the Oglethorpe Baptist Church and the Philathea Mae English Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lee Cross; a son, Hubert David Cross and three daughters, Carol Latrelle Cross, Linda Jean Cross and Julia Anne Cross.
She is survived by a son, Glenn Cross and his wife Deloris of Montezuma, GA; a daughter, Debra Cross Brown and her husband William of Montezuma, GA. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
