OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. John W. "Dub" Jones, age 84, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at Miona Geriatric and Dementia Center in Ideal, Georgia.
Dub was born on April 6, 1933 in Ocilla, Georgia to the late Wallace Jones and Ina Britt Jones.He was employed as a welder with C. E. Minerals in Andersonville, Georgia for over 35 years.Dub was a former deacon and a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church in Ideal, GA.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Randy Harris officiating.
Survivors include two sons: Randy and Bonnie Jones of Americus, Georgia and Chris and Sheila Jones of Oglethorpe, Georgia; two daughters, Dustie and Tony Satterfield of Ideal, Georgia and Pam Riddle of Montezuma, Georgia; one brother, Carl Ellis Jones of Ocilla, Georgia, along with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Jeanette Jones, one grandson, Josh Joiner as well as a sister and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be sent to Little Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 261, Ideal, Georgia, 31041.
