Joel "Joe" Hood

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. Family will receive friends immediately after the service. His cousin, Richard Massey will officiate and give the eulogy.
Mr. Hood was born on October 10, 1945 in Montezuma, GA to the late William Morris Hood and Lois Massey Beard.He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Beard.
Before his retirement, he was into masonry construction and a truck driver with Tidewater in Forsyth, GA. He served in the Army National Guard and was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved being with his family.
Mr. Hood is survived by his daughter and a son-in-law, Pam Hood Chastain and her husband Joe of Gray, GA; his former spouse, Sheila Hood of Roberta, GA; two sisters and a brother, Irma Daniels of Pinehurst, GA, William "Buddy" Morris Hood, Jr. of Hanford, California and Shirley Beard Stubbs of Montezuma, GA; three grandchildren, Anthony Pitts, Nathan Pitts and Michael Maddox. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Children's Health Care of Atlanta or The Children's Hospital Navicent Health of Macon.
