OGLETHORPE, GA - Joel Felker, age 53, of Macon, GA, formerly of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, GA.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 from 7 - 9 PM at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Poole officiating. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Joel was born on December 28, 1957 in Montezuma, GA to Ethel Doris Bostick
Felker and the late William Marson Felker. He was preceded in death also by a
brother, Robert Butch Felker. Paternal grandparents were William and Leola
Felker; maternal grandparents were, Lawson and Mattie Bostick. He was a farm laborer and of the Holiness faith. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed working on small motors.
He is survived by his loving mother, Ethel Doris Felker of Warner Robins, GA; four siblings, Marlene McCullough and husband Ross of Warner Robins, GA, Larry Felker and wife Gaye of Augusta, GA, Gloria Kelley and husband Robert of Oglethorpe, GA, Carol Bell and husband Robert of Macon, GA; girlfriend, Tammy Moser of Macon, GA; very close aunt and uncle, Maude and James "Bug" Cromer of Oglethorpe, GA and several other aunts and uncles; four nieces,six nephews, several great nieces and nephews and many friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Watson-Mathews Funeral Home, P.O. Box 283, Montezuma, GA 31063 to help the family with funeral expenses.
