Visitation will be held Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Mark Poole will officiate the services. Burial will immediately follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Greene was born on December 28, 1952 in Montezuma, GA in the Macon County Clinic to the late Raymond Irvin Greene, Sr. and Frances Souter Greene. He was a graduate of Macon County High School and attended Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. He was of the Baptist faith, a retired farmer and could build anything he set his mind to do and is responsible for building his own home and a butterbean picker. He was a great electrician and an avid outdoorsman and loved animals very much. He also enjoyed raising vegetables for his business, A. J.'s Produce.
Survivors include his sister, Joyce Greene Davis of Suwanee, GA; two brothers, Raymond Greene of Atlanta, GA and Gary Greene of Garden Valley, GA; three nieces, Victoria Davis of Flowery Branch, GA and Gina Bible and husband Lindsey of Fountain Inn, SC, Tonya Barnes and husband Rodney of Ellaville, GA, one nephew, Michael Davis of Duluth, GA; six great nieces and nephews, Victoria Bible, Shawn Davis, Jessica Davis, Ryan Barnes, Justin Barnes and Cameron Barnes; one great great niece, Lilly Bible and one great great nephew, Nikki Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
