In keeping with Jessica's wishes, she will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at Oglethorpe United Methodist Church, 402 Randolph Street in Oglethorpe, GA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Jessica was born on May 19, 1983 in Americus, GA. Before her illness, she was a cashier at Harvey's Supermarket in Montezuma, GA. She loved to swim and being with her children and family in her spare time. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Sharon Layfield; husband, Stevie Barfield; two children, Wayne Layfield and Cassie Barfield; sister, Tammi Law and her husband Kevin; brother, Shannon Layfield; two nieces, Chloee Law, Emilee Law and nephew, J.B. Law all of Montezuma, GA. Many aunts, uncles and extended family also survive.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Layfield, paternal grandparents, Marvin and Ruby Layfield; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Grace Middlebrooks.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her two children. An account will be setup at BB&T Bank in Montezuma, GA.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Mathews Funeral Home of Montezuma.
