Jennie Peterson

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 and from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday May 25, 2016 at Still Water Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Still Water Chapel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Peterson was born October 30, 1946 in Rome, GA, to the late Colonel Everett Hughes Ramsey and Eugenia Jones Ramsey. She moved to Marshallville in 1965 and has been a smiling face in the Macon County community ever since. Mrs. Peterson was a teacher in the Macon County Board of Education system and a Co-Pastor at Still Water Chapel in Ideal. She was very active in the church and loved her grandchildren dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Neil Ramsey.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, Roy Peterson of Ideal, GA; one son, Roy C. Peterson of Macon, GA, and four daughters: Elizabeth (Bradley) Braswell fo Montgomery, AL, Linda (Larry) Hamsley of Andersonville, GA, Olivia (Tod) Handley of Roopville, GA, and Natalie (Dave) Gibbs of Perry, GA. She also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren: Jessica (Russell) Holt, Sarah (Shane) Black, Virginia Braswell, John Bradley Braswell, Cameron Hamsley, Lily Grace Peterson, Anna Katherine Handley, Nathan Thomas Handley, Heather Elizabeth Gibbs, Gabriel Davis Gibbs, Nathan Michael Gibbs, Jenny Lu Gibbs, Jessica Lynn Gibbs, and Mary Ruth Gibbs; and one great-grandchild, Brooks Black.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Still Water Chapel Cemetery Fund, 3550 Ga Hwy 240, Ideal, GA 31041.
