Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon in the chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12: 00 noon in the chapel at Watson- Mathews Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow at the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park.
"Miss" Jency was born in Ideal, GA. on December 24, 1922 to the late Wiley Ferman Giles and Martha Daniels Giles. She was employed with the Macon County Board of Education and worked as a teacher's aide at Macon County Elementary and Macon County High School."Miss" Jency was an artist at the sewing machine.
She is survived by her two daughters; Charm Carter of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Cherry Carter of Columbus, Georgia; one son, Kim Carter of Montezuma, Georgia; one sister Maureen Murray of Albany, Georgia; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.Several nieces and nephews also survive."Miss" Jency is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil R. Carter of 34 years; three children: Jency Carter Nettles, Cary Carter and Candice Carter Page; two grandchildren: Jarrod Nettles and Jamie Nettles; one great-grandchild, Samuel Tyson Chandler.
