MONTEZUMA, GA - Imogene "Jean" Collins Smith, 92, of Montezuma, GA passed away at her home Thursday, January 8, 2015. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at Orange Springs Cemetery in Orange Springs, FL.
Mrs. Smith was born May 6, 1922 to the late Roger Ramsey Collins and Winnie Love Townsend Collins. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Montezuma, the 51 Club, and the Macon County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hude Samuel Smith, Jr.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a niece, Mary Jean (Jim) Henson of Albany, GA, four nephews: Charles (Barbie) Hopper of Marietta, GA, Sam (Lynn) Hopper of Dahlonega, GA, Roger R. (Robin) Collins, III of Mansfield, TX, and Leo K. (Karen) Turner, Jr. of Laurel Hill, FL. She also leaves behind her caregivers: Brenda Swartzentruber, Marie Swartzentruber, and Christine Thomas. Special thanks are given to: Sherri, Brianna, and April at Heart of Georgia Hospice.
