OGLETHORPE, GA - James "Bait" Taylor, age 58, of 3152 Martin Road in Oglethorpe, GA passed away Tuesday night, December 30, 2014 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, GA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA with Ed Sandefur officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma, GA.
Serving as pallbearers are Mark Brown, Earl Cromer, Ryan Thompson, Rocky Thompson, Chad Harris and Jason Price. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Al Aldridge and Earl Collier.
James was born on October 14, 1956 in Cordele, GA to the late Elzie Jordan Taylor and Martha Margaret Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Taylor. He was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pazzie Taylor of Oglethorpe, GA; two children, Monica (Jonathan) Duke of Oglethorpe, GA and Melissa Morua of Preston, GA; a god son, Lance (Jessica) Reagan of Oglethorpe, GA;four sisters, Barbara Ray Easom of Vienna, GA, Betty Nelson of Cordele, GA, Bonnie Sue (Dan) Tanner of South Carolina and Jimmie (Ray) Green of Vienna, GA; one brother, Thomas (Mary) Taylor of Cairo, GA; mother-in-law, Minerva Thompson of Oglethorpe, GA; six grandchildren, Bianca Williams, Kaley Williams, Jonna Duke, Jesse Duke, Destiny Garza and Bryce Protho; many nieces and nephews also survive.
