RUPERT, GA - James J. McLaughlin (Jimmy Barrow), 72, of Rupert, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mr. McLaughlin was born in Butler, GA, January 13, 1943. He was an avid fisherman and worked as a mechanic with Southern Frozen Foods in Montezuma and Martha Mills in Thomaston, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Barrow and Irma Stringfield Barrow, and his wife, Betty McLaughlin.
Mr. McLaughlin is survived by his companion, Sarah McLendon of Rupert, GA; and his children: Keith (Tonya) McLaughlin of Fitzgerald, GA, Martha Lee of Ellaville, GA, Patricia (Curtis) Jinks of Ideal, GA, Steve (Ruth Ann) Law of Rupert, GA, Pam (Eugene) Davis of Ideal, GA, Tracy (Jeff) Cawthon of Ellaville, GA, and Lynn (Johnny) Davis of Ideal, GA; three sisters: Shirley Youngblood of Thomaston, GA, Aryann McLaughlin of Covington, GA, and Margie Jenkins of Michigan. He also leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
