James Ralph Layfield

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, February 4, 2019, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia. Rev. Roy Peterson will be officiating the service.
He was of the Holiness faith and attended Stillwater Chapel in Ideal, Georgia before his illness.
Mr. Layfield was born on August 12, 1947 in Montezuma, GA to the late John "Johnny" Ike Layfield and Doris Layfield, who still survives. He worked for Montezuma Health & Rehabilitation Center and Pine Hill Nursing Home in Byromville, Georgia before retiring.
Survivors include his loving mother, Doris Layfield of Montezuma, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Evie and Billy Bartlett of Montezuma, Georgia; uncle, Sammy Layfield of Ellaville, Georgia; two aunts, Shirley Pollock of Cordele, Georgia, and Gloria Price of Homosassa, Florida, two nieces, Sandra Goodwin of Montezuma, Georgia and Destiny Brooke Goodwin of Gray, Georgia; two nephews, Thomas Bartlett (Candis) of Gray, Georgia and David Lewis Goodwin, Jr. of Colorado and a great nephew, Tyler Bartlett of Gray, Georgia.
Flowers will be accepted.
