James Donald Joiner

James Donald Joiner, age 61, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at his residence.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Don will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023, beginning with visitation at the graveside at 1:30 PM, and service starting at 2:00 PM, at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oglethorpe, GA. Pastor Barbara Koch will officiate the service.

Don was born in Montezuma, GA on January 21, 1962. He was a member of Mt. Zion-St. Luke Lutheran Church in Oglethorpe, GA. He worked for the City of Americus Public Works Department for 8 years and retired from CE Minerals in Andersonville, GA as a Kiln Operator. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Joiner and a nephew, Josh Joiner.

Don is survived by his companion, Dale Godfrey of Oglethorpe, GA; his mother, Myrtle Wright Joiner; three siblings, Ralph Lamar Joiner (Dondra Lovvorn) of Andersonville, GA, Diane Joiner Cagle of Andersonville, GA and Paul Joiner (Jennifer) of Plains, GA and 7 nieces and nephews, Carrie Joiner, Jason Cagle, Megan Hall, Alexia Lythos, Laura Wise (Michael), Amirah Hall and Maggie Joiner.
