James L. Fargason, Jr., age 88, of Montezuma, GA passed away Monday morning, July 28, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 10 AM, Wednesday, July 30, in the chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma with theRev. Tommy McConnell officiating. Burial followed in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma.
He was born on April 5, 1920 in Clay County, Alabama to James L. Fargason, Sr. and Obera Green Fargason and moved to Montezuma from Tift County, GA in 1961. He was a WWII Army Veteran, where he served on a B17 Bomber crew. He worked at Forest Mills and as a Boll Weevel Trapper, but he was best known and loved for his "summer job" at Browns Farm selling peaches and tomatoes to all his many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Fargason; two sisters, Nell Mitcham and Omaree Robinson.
Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Charles Detamore of Montezuma, Sandra and David Dean of Peachtree City, GA; step-son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Grace Grant of Americus, GA; 3 grandchildren, Kelly Detamore, Lisa Cook, Misty Helms and a family friend Emma Walls.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma had charge of funeral arrangements.
