OGLETHORPE,GA - James Adelma Ducote, Sr., age 89, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017 at his residence.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home for both James and his wife, Darlene Ducote who passed away in January of this year.
Services are scheduled for 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors in Andersonville, Georgia.
Friends and family are asked to assemble at 11:30 a.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
Survivors include four sons: James Ducote Jr. (Debbi) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Clarence H Ducote (Debbie) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, David Ducote (Nita) of Oglethorpe, Georgia and John Ducote (Melissa) of New Orleans, Louisiana;Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, three nephews and one niece.James Ducote is preceded in death by his loving wife, Darlene Ducote and sister Mary Ann Gibbens.
James was born December 9, 1927 in Plaucheville, Louisiana to the late Dennis Ducote and Marie Lemoine Ducote. Mr. Ducote served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was of Catholic religion and also served as scoutmaster in New Orleans and scout commissioner in Macon County.
