OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. James Cromer, Jr., 87, of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Whitewater Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cromer was born December 15, 1928 in Ideal, GA, to the late James Ernest Cromer and Willie Mae Barfield Cromer. He was a Ranger with the Georgia Forestry Commission for thirty-five years and retired in 1983. Mr. Cromer was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Cromer is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Annie Maude Cromer of Oglethorpe, GA; a brother, Larry (Angela) Cromer of Vienna, GA; and a niece, Gloria (Robert) Kelley of Oglethorpe, GA. Also surviving is a host of other nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice and Mr. Cromer's caregivers: Tomeka Lucy Williams, Syreta Harris, and Melissa Oliver.
