Mr. Jack Ira Bartlett, age 84, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away, Sunday, November 13, 2022 in Perry, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home, Montezuma, Georgia.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Montezuma United Methodist Church, Montezuma, Georgia. Pastor Jonathan Beckum will officiate the service.
The service will be LIVESTREAMED on Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Facebook page.
Interment with military honors will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park, Montezuma, Georgia.
Jack was born on December 19, 1937 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Mr. Herman Ira Bartlett and Agnes Peaster Bartlett. Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Joel Mack Bartlett and Robert Lewis Bartlett.
Jack served his country in the United States Army and the Georgia National Guard. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. Jack worked at Robins Air Force Base as a contract negotiator and was instrumental working with the U-2 and J-Stars programs, retiring after 35 years of service. Jack was a faithful member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and loved watching the games and cheering on the Dawgs with is family. Jack fiercely loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his soulmate of 60 years, Barbara Odom Bartlett of Montezuma, Georgia; two loving daughters, Jennifer Bartlett Rafferty (Ken) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Amy Bartlett of Dalton, Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Christopher Rafferty, Morgan Rafferty Cruz (Danny), Andrew Rafferty, Jack Rafferty, Ethan Cowell and Cameron Cowell; one great-granddaughter, Adalynn Rafferty; and two nephews, Chad Bartlett and Ronnie Bartlett.
The family has asked, in lieu flowers that memorial contributions be made in memory of Mr. Bartlett to the Montezuma United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 159, Montezuma, Georgia 31063.
