Lillian Inez Grant Hobbs, age 92, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Monday evening, Aug. 3, 2009 at her residence.
Visitation was from 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, Aug. 4. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe. Rev. Jimmie Chapman, Rev. Gene Simmons and Rev. Ray Smith officiated.
Burial followed in Felton Cemetery in Montezuma.

She was a member of Pine Level Methodist Church for many years, later to join Whitewater Baptist Church where she served on several committees including WMU, Training Union Teacher, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School Teacher and church custodian for many years. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was known as "Nanny" and "Nanny Bop" to many in her family. She would recite the 23rd Psalm every day with joy and delighted in singing "Happy Birthday" to her children in person or by telephone.
Survivors include her eleven children and their spouses, Shirley Jones of Greenville, SC, Larry and Ann Hobbs of Dacula, GA, Bobby and Alice Hobbs of Andersonville, GA, Linda and Gene Simmons of Garden Valley, GA, Patricia and Brown Hortman of Oglethorpe, GA, Marjorie and Clyde English of Montrose, GA, Louie and Frances Hobbs of Reynolds, GA, Terry and Debbie Hobbs of Vienna, GA, Susan and Jim Tungate of Oglethorpe, GA, Joyce and Ray Smith of Butler, GA, Cheryl and Larry Dorsey of Oglethorpe, GA, 34 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; sister, Virginia Taylor of Oglethorpe, GA; daughter-in-law, Tonya Hobbs of Oglethorpe, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Hobbs, Jr and a son, Grover C. Hobbs III.
