Hoyt Otis Messer

Mr. Messer was born June 9, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Felton Hubert Messer and Georgia Lucille Ward Messer. He was self-employed as a truck driver for many years. He loved fishing, collecting trucks, and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
Mr. Messer is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wessie Rogers Messer of Oglethorpe, Ga; his children, Sheri (Scotty) Jones of Garden Valley, Ga and Hoyt (Connie) Messer of Oglethorpe, Ga; a brother, Felton Hubert (Carol) Messer of Smyrna, Ga; five grandchildren, Gray Jones, Natalie (Rick) Rodgers, Erica (Scott) Watson, Katie Hammond and Stephanie Hammond . He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and his beloved chihuahua, Lucy.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Messer to: Heart of Georgia Hospice 1120 Morningside Dr., Perry, Ga 31069 or Ideal Baptist Church for Relay for Life, c/o Marilyn Hines, P.O. Box 61, Ideal, Ga 31041.
