FORSYTH, GA - Henry Reed, age 81 of Forsyth, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at his residence. He lived in Forsyth for the past two years with his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Leonard Loftin and grandson, Cameron McLendon.
Funeral services will be held at 5 PM, Tuesday, Sept. 13 in the chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Anderson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma.
Mr. Reed was born on April 6, 1930 in Alabama to the late Darius Reed and Mary Pennington Reed. He was a retired police officer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his three daughters, Patricia Reed (Leonard) Loftin of Forsyth, GA, Kathy (Bobby) Spires of Eastman, GA, Shirley Reed (Kevin) Epps of Swainsboro, GA; one step-daughter, Janice White (Mark) Floyd of Macon, GA; one son, Danny Ray (Tricia) Reed of Oglethorpe, GA; two step-sons, Jimmy (Laura) White and Darrell White of Macon, GA; one brother, Donald (Ruth) Reed of Caledonia, MS; his former spouses, Maxine R. Posey and Carolyn Reed; He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Julie Ann Reed and Ann Reed; one step daughter, Tammy White; one son, James Reed, one sister, Mary Reed Tucker; four brothers, John Reed, Benton Reed, Cecil Reed and Halen Reed.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
