Gloria Rhunell Trussell
June 1, 1932 — December 12, 2017
Services will be held Thursday, December 14th at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Montezuma. Visitation will be held one hour prior the service at the church. A private burial will follow in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma. Rev. Mike Scarborough and Rev. Michael Truitt will officiate the service.
RuRu as she was affectionately called by her family, was born on June 1, 1932 to the late Inez Massey Hill and Clovis Hill. Rhunell graduated from Montezuma High School and married the love of her life, Walter Joe Trussell, Sr. She worked at Macon County Clinic as a bookkeeper for 26 years. She left to help build her husband's business, Trussell Services and also worked as the bookkeeper for the McKenzie Country Club for 40 years. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, traveling and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Montezuma.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, a daughter, Deborah Trussell Key, and her aunt, Eva Mae Stafford and her uncle, Jay Stafford, who helped to raise her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Walter Joe Trussell, Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter "Buddy" Trussell, Jr., and his wife Angie; James David Trussell and his wife Bethany all of Montezuma, GA; five grandchildren, Walter "Brock" Trussell III of Asheville, NC, Joann K. Howell and her husband Chris of Fort Lewis, Washington, Mindi Trussell Sims and her husband Corey of Byron, GA, Alyce Key of Warner Robins, GA and Anna Marie Trussell of Montezuma, GA; a great grandson, Chase Howell of Fort Lewis, Washington; a brother, Clovis Hill of Wildomar, CA. She is also survived by her farm pets and several other family members.
