Gladys Tate Johnson

DUBLIN, GA - Service for Gladys Eilene Tate Johnson, age 88, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 28, 2016, at Olivet Baptist Church.Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma, GA.Rev. Roy Reaberg will officiate.The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM.Mrs. Johnson died Friday, March 25, 2016.

Mrs. Johnson worked as a nurse thirty-nine years for Dr. Quentin Price and was a longtime member of Olivet Baptist Church.She was a loving mother and grandmother, and was known as "Super G" by her family.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded by her husbands, Edgar Franklin Tate and Woodrow Johnson; parents, William Samuel and Myra Ophelia Hankerson Hines.

Survivors include her children; Linda Tate Moses, of Dublin, Robert E. Tate, of Fairhope, AL, Randy M. (Billie) Tate, of Dublin, and Mark K. (Cheryl) Tate, of Birmingham, AL; step-daughter, Billie Stratton, of Flower Mound, TX; fifteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

Kevin Tate, Matthew Tate, Josh Moses, Bret Joiner, Kris Passons, Jeremy Jerkins, Matthew Ganey, and Scot Singletary will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA31021.

Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin, GA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
