IDEAL, GA - Mrs. Girthia Lee Battles, age 92, of Ideal, GA formerly of Chatsworth, GA passed away at Flint River Hospital in Montezuma, GA on Friday, July 5, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was a resident of Miona Geriatric & Dementia Center in Ideal, GA.

She was born on August 24, 1920 in Walker County, GA to the late John Gilbert and Ida Hulgon Gilbert. She was retired from Galaxy Carpet in Chatsworth, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Cleveland Battles; a daughter, Barbara Herod of Summerville, GA, and two sons Charles and Larry Battles of Chatsworth, GA.

Survivors include her five children, Frances Boggs of Shady Dale, GA, Thelma Day and her husband Jake of Lexington, GA, Jo Pate of Atlanta, GA, Katie Lawhorn and her husband Billy of Butler, GA, and Buddy Battles and his wife Linda of Butler, GA; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren andgreat great grandchildren who loved her dearly.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
