OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. Gervis Morrell Jr., age 76, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his residence.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

A native of Macon County, he was born February 9, 1941 in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Gervis Morrell, Sr. and Nettie Windham Morrell. He was employed for many years as a security guard with John Wesley Villas in Macon, Georgia.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristi Morrell of Oglethorpe, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Connie Marshall of Ideal, Georgia, Bonnie Simmons (Larry) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Cathy Layfield (Larry) of Reynolds, Georgia;two brothers-in-law, Harry Jinks (Pat) of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Curtis Jinks (Patricia) of Ideal, Georgia, along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Jinks Morrell, one brother, Maurice Morrell, and one sister, Polly Crook and his beloved golden retriever, Kelly.
