Gerald Wayne "Jerry" Jones, age 56 of Montezuma, GA passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Visitation will be from 4 PM to 6 PM Sunday, Nov. 15 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Montezuma. Rev. Michael Truitt and Dr. Randy Gregg will officiate.
He was born on September 16, 1953 to the late Roy Jones and Helen Denham Jones of Panama City, FL. He was Senior Vice President of Sales since 1980 for the Momar Corporation and also owned and operated Jones Floor Care. He was a 1975 graduate of University of Georgia with a BS in Ag Economics. He taught and coached at Macon County High School. He also coached recreational sports for Macon County and at Southland Academy. He gave us his time, energy and talent to children and other people. He was a beloved husband, father, son and brother.
Survivors include his wife, Joanie Hodges Jones of Montezuma, GA; daughter, Lauren Jones of Montezuma; son, Jared Jones of Montezuma; brother, Darryl (Susan) Jones of Macon, GA and their children, Katie and John Jones; sister, Patricia (Billy) Poteet of Panama City, FL and their children, Patti (Jeff) Rogers and Bill Poteet.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Montezuma, Cedar Valley Baptist Church, Macon County High School or University of Georgia.
