Mr. Simpson was born September 14, 1949 in Johnson City, TN to the late Baxter Simpson and Mattie Pealer Simpson. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a 3rd Degree Master Mason. In addition to his parents, Mr. Simpson was preceded in death by his sister, Arlola Cable and his brother, J.L. Simpson.
Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Nancy M. Simpson of Oglethorpe, GA; four children: Adam (Stacee) Simpson, Heidi (Steven) Hines, Haley (Jeremie) Radford, and James David "J.D" (Tammi) Childs; and eight grandchildren: Taylor Simpson, Hannah Simpson, Caleb Simpson, Austin Hines, Emily Hines, Brighton Hines, Madilynn Childs, and Willow Childs. He also leaves behind two sisters: Mildred Franklin and Frances Graybeal; and six brothers: John Simpson, Roger Simpson, Gary Simpson, Bobby Simpson, Alden Simpson, and Wayne Simpson.
