George Anthony Patterson, 73, of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
A private graveside memorial service will be held at Oak City Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

George Anthony Patterson was born June 24, 1947 in Montgomery, AL, the son of George Washington Patterson and Margaret Wynnell Blakely. After high school, George proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He earned a bachelor's degree from Auburn University. George worked as a general contractor building everything from tiny houses to commercial chicken houses. As an avid outdoorsman, George enjoyed fishing, hunting and sharing stories of the one that got away. He was a loyal friend to those in his community and tried to return the favors of friendship he received.
Survivors include his son, Justin Patterson and his wife, Heidi, of New York, NY; his brother, Mark Patterson of Augusta, GA; and his grandchildren, Heath & Emma Patterson. George was preceded in death by his parents.
