George Fowler

George was born on January 17, 1927 to the late Ernest W. Fowler and Gussie S. Fowler.He was a life-long resident of Macon County and World War II veteran.He retired from American General and National Life Insurance Company and also retired from the National Weather Bureau after 50 years of service. George was a member of First Baptist Church where he also served as deacon and taught Sunday school for over 20 years.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louise H. Fowler and his siblings, Eian Fowler, Sr., Jennie Price, Lena Parker, and Ernest "Baby" Fowler.
He is survived by his children, Deloris Cross (Glenn) of Montezuma, GA., Clara Sandefur (Ed) of Elko, GA, and David Fowler (Christy) of Florence, KY; six grandchildren; Julie Anne Jones (Chris), Leigh Mosteller (Tripp), William Sandefur (Coby), Melanie Buckner (Josh), Brian Fowler (Amanda) and Cory Fowler (Baylie); and seven great grandchildren.
