Gene Nathan Bailey – 90, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away peacefully on September 18, 2020 after having his beloved "brehfass" (breakfast).Born August 10, 1930 in Vienna, GA, he lived the majority of his adult life in Fort Valley, GA, where he worked at Strietmann Biscuit Company and later retiring from Woolfolk Chemical Company and moving to Knoxville, TN, then to Lawrenceville, GA. He was an active member in the First Baptist Church in Fort Valley, refereed High School basketball, coached little kids' basketball teams, enjoyed weekends on the golf course, UGA Bulldogs, and NASCAR and was known by many kids as "Superman".

Preceded in death by his wife Adina Ruth Avera Bailey; parents, Fred Nay Bailey and Mary Caldwell Bailey; and sister, Martha Bailey Christmas. Survived by his sons, Gene N. Bailey Jr. (Jennifer) and Edgar W. Bailey; daughter, Jan Bailey Vasser (Vance); grandchildren, Lane Vasser, Chase Vasser, Gene N. Bailey III (Courtney), Kylen Bailey and Sloan Bailey; great grandchild, Dre Vasser; sister, Dorothy Bailey Barker and brother, Marcus John Bailey (Beverly); brother-in-law, Ernest Christmas and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was an active contributor with strong beliefs in "St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital" and "Shriner's Hospital for Children".In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either of these in his honor or Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN.

Dad, a United States Air Force Veteran, will have an Interment with a small group of family and friends, and be laid to rest with Mom, at Andersonville National Cemetery on October 16, 2020 at 12:00 noon.
