The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.Burial will follow at the Ideal City Cemetery.
Gary was born on July 14, 1953 in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Fred Dixon and Lucille Albritton Dixon. He was a self employed carpenter.
He is survived by his son, Shane Dixon (Pam) of Ellaville, Georgia; two brothers, Freddie Dixon (Claire) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Johnny Dixon of Americus, Georgia; one sister, Tricia Johnson of Americus, Georgia; two grandchildren, Haley Hortman of Ellaville, Georgia and Nicholas Hortman of Perry, Georgia. Gary also leaves behind three great-grandchildren; Ashlan, Easton and Keller and a host of other family members.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be sent to Columbus Hospice House at 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31909 or Taylor County Health and Rehabilitation Center at 165 S. Broad Street, Butler, Georgia 31006.
