MONTEZUMA, GA - Frank Gresham Kelley, 84, of Montezuma, GA, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon, GA. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Montezuma with Rev. Ken Bush officiating the service. Burial will be private.
Mr. Kelley was born June 29, 1931 in Oglethorpe, GA, to the late William David Kelley and Lena Gresham Kelley. In 1956, he joined First Baptist Church of Montezuma. Over many years, he served as a Deacon and Treasurer and was a member of the Ralph Odom Sunday School class. Mr. Kelley was the owner of K&B Grocery from 1953 to 1984, was part owner of Georgia Building Supply in Montezuma, and owned Frank G. Kelley Properties. He served three terms as Mayor of Montezuma from January 1986 to December 1991. Mr. Kelley was a Mason, served in the Georgia National Guard, and was a member of the Lions Club for thirty-five years, serving as Treasurer and Vice-President.
Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Lacy Kelley, and two sisters: Louise Rodgers and Selma Dorsey.
Mr. Kelley is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Cindy Kelley of Montezuma, GA; a daughter and son-in-law: Katrina Kelley Smith and Dr. Kevin Smith of Forsyth, GA; a sister, Thera Kelley Head of Oglethorpe, GA; and four grandchildren: Lacy Kelley, Blake Kelley, Kyle Smith, and Kasey Smith (Wes) Cone.
