MONTEZUMA, GA - Mr. Floyd E. Yoder, age 92 years, 7 months, and 8 days, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Montezuma Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall. Funeral services celebrating Floyd’s life will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Montezuma Mennonite Church at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His life reflected his love for his Lord. He loved his family and friends and his life revolved around them. He was born on June 1, 1931 in Lynnhaven, Virginia to the late Enos and Mary (Miller) Yoder. On September 30, 1952 he married the late Katie Weaver. They spent 59 joyful years together before her passing on November 2, 2011. Surviving are his 8 children, Marvin Yoder and wife Miriam of Montezuma, Georgia, Sarah and husband Clarence Yoder of Hickory, Kentucky, Mary and husband Lewis Plank, Louis Ray Yoder and wife Kathy, Brenda and Husband Nelson Yoder, Larry Yoder and wife Emily, Barbara Jean and Husband Ernest Swartzentruber, Loretta and husband Steve Esh, all of Montezuma, Georgia; 4 sisters, Sadie Beachy of Perry, Georgia, Vernie Weaver of Montezuma, GA, Alta Kauffman of Marshallville, Georgia, and Mary Yoder and husband Gerald of Pataste, Costa Rica. also surviving are 56 grandchildren, 129 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Katie (Weaver) Yoder, daughter, Ruby and husband Elmer Swartzentruber, 3 grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, his parents, 5 brothers, Edwin, Claude, Allen, Melvin and Norman.
