BYROMVILLE, GA - Mr. Eugene Peters of Byromville, Georgia passed away Saturday evening, December 12, 2020, of natural causes.He died as he retired for bed. His wife of 68 years, Margaret was by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, of Byromville, Georgia; two sons, Douglas Eugene Peters (Jane) of Athens, Georgia, and Dr. Jesse Darrell Peters (Susan) of Durango, Colorado. Two Sisters-in-Law: Reba Green and Gail Harsh, both of Americus, Georgia. Several nieces, nephews, and many great friends also survive.
He was the son of Emory Lee and Ophelia Simmons Peters deceased of Walton County, Georgia; his siblings are also deceased and included: Bernice Peters, Ella Maude Puckett, Ella Maude Puckett, Doris Mitchell, Margie Farnell, Hoyt Peters, and Ronnie Peters.
Eugene was a great lover of nature and enjoyed fishing and hunting.Many times he said the world around us is so beautiful. His great love was fishing and also enjoyed hunting.
The Peters moved to Dooly County in 1973 from Walton County.Eugene was a talented carpenter and built their beautiful home located on Poplar Springs Rd. in Byromville, Georgia.He designed machinery in Atlanta for many years but loved farming and purchased 1,100 acres in Dooly County and named it Hawkridge Farm.
His life was a great inspiration for all those who knew him.His warm personality and care for others made him an outstanding man.
A private graveside service will be announced at a later date.
