MONTEZUMA, GA - Lt. Emmett Russell Lott, 89, of Montezuma, GA passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his residence. A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Andersonville National Cemetery with Pastor Billy Kimbrel officiating the service. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
There will be no formal visitation. The family may be contacted at the residence, 207 Patricia Drive in Montezuma, GA.
Mr. Lott was born May 4, 1923 in Dalton, GA to the late Emmett Russell Lott, Sr. and Helen Kettles Lott. He was raised in Louisville, KY where he attended public schools and college. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II and retired from Proctor & Gamble as Plant Engineer.
Mr. Lott's survivors include his loving wife, Allene Lott of Montezuma, GA; four daughters, Leslie Lott (Michael Moore) of Coral Gables, FL, Martha Ann Lott (John Jones) of Gainesville, FL, Sarah Lott of Portland, OR, and Allene (Jimmy) Cowan of Americus, GA; and a brother, Jack Lott of Columbia, SC. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; Michael Moore, Jr., Emmett Moore, Sarah (Eric) Hutchinson Spalvins, Joe Sackett, Kate Sackett, Sam Cowan, Solomon Cowan, and David Cowan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
