IDEAL, GA - Mrs. Elene Raburn Smith, age 87, of Ideal, GA passed away Saturday evening, March 8, 2014 at her home.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 1 P.M. until time of the funeral service at 2 P.M., in the fellowship hall of Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe with Rev. B. Ray Smith, Rev. Gene Simmons and Rev. Chris Hall officiating the service. Burial will immediately follow in the Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. Deacons of Whitewater Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Born in Montezuma, GA on December 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Floyd L. Raburn and Myrtle Taylor Raburn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Curtis Smith.
She was a member of the Woman's Missionary Union and a member of Whitewater Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years.
She is survived by her three sons, Gary C. Smith of Ideal, GA, Rev. B. Ray Smith and his wife Joyce of Butler, GA and Steve Smith and his wife Judy of Ideal, GA; sister, Oneita Jones of Oglethorpe, GA; seven grandchildren, Major Layne Smith, Lauren Hobby, Jason Smith, Nicole Montgomery, Aimee McCrary, Alicia Kirkland, Mark Smith and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Woman's Missionary Union or Annie Armstrong Easter Offering at Whitewater Baptist Church, 1955 State Route 128, Oglethorpe, GA 31068.
