IDEAL, GA - Edith Lamb Broughton, age 87 of Woodstock, GA, formerly of Ideal, GA and widow of John A. Broughton, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Woodstock Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Woodstock, GA.Mrs. Broughton was born in Brunswick, Ga. to Obed and Lola Lamb. Edith and John resided in Macon County for over forty years. They owned & operated The Craft Shop in Ideal, GA. where they lived.
She is survived by her six children, John Andrew Broughton, Jr. and his wife Tamala, of Colorado Springs, CO., Linda Broughton Miller of Raleigh, NC, Judy Broughton Overton, and her husband, Johnnie, of Alexandria, VA., Howard Broughton and his wife, Lisa, of Justin, TX, Paul Broughton of Woodstock, GA. and Jerry Broughton and his wife Belinda, of Haslet, TX. In addition, to eleven grandchildren, she is survived by her brother, Obed N. Lamb, Jr., Jesup, GA.
The family received friends on Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A graveside funeral service was held, Monday, January 24, 2011, at Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy McConnell officiating.
