Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Marshallville, Georgia and Pastor Danny Barton will officiate.Family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.Entombment will follow at the Marshallville City Cemetery Mausoleum.
Born in Calhoun County on March 14, 1929, the son of the late Charlie Alton Johnson, and Christine McKinney.He served two terms as Macon County Commissioner.He was a lifelong farmer who loved his family and friends, and enjoyed pitching horseshoes and riding motorcycles.
His memory will forever be treasured by his two children: Doyle" Chuck" Johnson, Jr. of Marshallville, Georgia, and Deborah Johnson Thompson (Buck) of Perry, Georgia.Also, surviving are eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Lacy Johnson and a brother, Henry Richard Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be sent to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas, 75284-0692.
