Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home and Rev. Damon Fountain will officiate.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dovie was born October 15, 1948 to Mrs. Carolyn Spradley Epps and the late Woodrow Hutto. During her career, she was employed as secretary for Bluebird Body Co, Judge Blanks, Chew & Lamberth Attorney and Macon State Prison.She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her morning coffee with her husband.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Russell Earl Kitchens of Montezuma, Georgia; two daughters: Angela Chihoski (Mike) of Peoria, IL and Andrea Hood (Cham) of Fort Valley, Georgia; her mother, Carolyn Spradley Epps and step-father, William Epps of Montezuma, Georgia; one brother James Hutto (Donna) of Flower Mound, Texas and a sister, Faye Vanzant (John) of Thomasville, Georgia. Five grandchildren: Grace Chihoski, Nicholas Chihoski, J.D. Chihoski, Shelley Hood, Richard Hood along with several nieces, nephews also survive.She is preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Hutto.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
