Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Montezuma with Pastor Mike Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park.
Mr. Griggers was born January 5, 1940 to the late Douglas Griggers, Sr. and Hazel Hill Griggers. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Hickman Griggers, his son, Steven Griggers; and daughter-in-law, Marcy Tarrer Massey.
Mr. Griggers is survived by his son, Eriek Griggers and his wife Jacci, of Spring, TX; five grandchildren, Victoria, Toben, & Catherynn Griggers, Cassie and Mallory Massey; and two great-grandchildren, Colton Bustos and Miliana Baldino.Mr. Douglas also leaves behind a god-daughter, Lisa Crowe Smith; two nephews, Jim Hickman and Larry Hickman; and a niece, Judy Hodge.
