Donald Ray Burdette

July 29, 1940 — August 23, 2009

Donald Ray Burdette, age 69 of Oglethorpe, Ga passed away, Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2009 at the Flint River Hospital in Montezuma, Ga.

A memorial service was held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Oglethorpe United Methodist Church, 402 Randolph Street, Oglethorpe, Ga with Rev. Lee Pettis officiating.

He was born in Cullman, Alabama to the late Eldridge Burdette and Irine Mitchell Burdette. He resided in Fort Myers, Florida before moving to Oglethorpe, Ga. He was a Construction Maintenance Technician with Comcast in Fort Myers and was private in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Gene Burdette.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline Allen Burdette of Oglethorpe, Ga; daughter, Donna Burdette of Cullman, Al; stepdaughter, Lisa Ann Drake of Ideal, Ga; three sons, Robert William Burdette of Kingsland, Ga, Troy Burdette of Cullman, Al, Todd Burdette of Cullman, Al; brother, Donnie Eugene Burdette of Bradenton, Fl; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive.

Watson-Mathews Funeral Home of Montezuma was in charge of arrangements.
