MARSHALLVILLE, GA - Dean Christopher Montgomery, 74, of Marshallville, GA, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins, GA. Visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 16, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Montezuma, GA with Father Francis Gillespie, SJ officiating.
Mr. Montgomery was born November 22, 1940 in Chicago, IL to the late Samuel Dean Montgomery and Virginia Wood Montgomery. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Loyola University Chicago in 1967. Mr. Montgomery was a Chemist for Olivetti Corporation for twenty years and owned two art galleries: Park Lane Galleries in Camp Hill, PA and Montgomery Fine Art and Antiques in Macon, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Montgomery, and a step-son, Bobby Wilkes.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by three children: Pete (Laura) Montgomery of Etters, PA, Maureen (Michael) Minielli of Staten Island, NY, and Michele Montgomery of Melbourne, FL, Allen, TX and Pigeon Forge, TN; and eight step-children: Lisa Rodgers of Andersonville, GA, Connie (Ricky) Gibson of Andersonville, GA, Donna Rodgers Singleton of Perry, GA, Billy (Susie) Wilkes of Westchester, OH,John (Lea) Rodgers of Perry, GA, Lee Rodgers of Montezuma, GA, Warren Rodgers, Jr. of Ellaville, GA, and Sheila Wilkes Leavens of Henderson, GA. He also leaves behind two sisters: Linda (Ron) Koy of Fox Lake, IL, Laura Montgomery of Zurich, IL, and a brother, David (Cynthia) Montgomery of Cary, IL. In addition, he leaves behind thirty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
