OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. David Brown Hortman, age 81, of Oglethorpe, Georgia entered into rest on Monday, April 13, 2020 at Perry Hospital in Perry, Georgia.
A private service will be held at on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Andersonville National Cemetery with Pastor Gene Simmons officiating.

Born November 15, 1938 in Reynolds, Georgia, he was the son of the late Walter Howard Hortman and Marie Brown Hortman.With honor and pride, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was owner of Hortman's Heating and Air Services and during the latter part of his career, worked as manager at Public Works Warehouse in Montezuma, Georgia. He loved spending time with his family and playing golf with his brothers-in-law's.

His memory will forever be cherished by his three children: Michael Hortman (Johnna) of Ellaville, Georgia, Michele Dodge (Marty) of Cleveland, Georgia and Marsha Norris (Gary) of Oglethorpe, Georgia;one sister, Jean Gilbert of Midland, Georgia and four grand-children: Michael Hortman, Jr.(Halley) of Ellaville, Georgia, Patrick Hortman of Ellaville, Georgia, Grant Shuptrine (girlfriend, Kaitlyn Carpenter) of Oglethorpe, Georgia. Kelley Shuptrine (Justin Spadvecchia) of Cleveland, Georgia along with many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, and a brother, Wayne Hortman.
