OGLETHORPE, GA - Mrs. Darlene Hair Ducote, age 78, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at her residence.

The family will honor her wishes for cremation and a service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Ducote was born on January 22, 1938 in Augusta, GA to the late Clarence Henry Hair and Gladys Hazel Carpenter Hair. She was the Communications Officer at the Macon County Sheriff's Office for over 20 years and the Montezuma Police Department for many years.She was a veteran of the United States Navy and served at the Pentagon.

Survivors include her loving husband, James A. Ducote, Sr. of Oglethorpe, GA; four sons, James A. Ducote, Jr. (Debbi) of New Orleans, LA, Clarence H. Ducote (Debbie) of Oglethorpe, GA, David C. Ducote (Nita) of Oglethorpe, GA and John E. Ducote (Melissa) of New Orleans, GA; 11 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, a brother, Kenneth Emil Hair of Montezuma, GA; 4 nephews and 2 nieces also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Montezuma First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 357, Montezuma, GA 31063 or Montezuma United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 159, Montezuma, GA 31063.
