ANDERSONVILLE, GA - Mrs. Cynthia Joy Johnson, age 67, of Andersonville, GA. passed away Sunday morning, February 26, 2017 at the Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry, GA.
Visitation will be held at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Andersonville United Methodist Church with Reverend Nolan Burns and Reverend Chris Wooden officiating.Private burial service will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery.
Mrs. Cynthia was born on May 3, 1949 in Florence, Alabama to Robert Thompson Redding and Georgia Hendrix Anders. She was a faithful member of Andersonville United Methodist Church and worked at PNC Bank in Montezuma.
Survivors include her loving husband, Tommy Johnson of Andersonville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Stephanie Johnson of Perry, Georgia; mother, Georgia Hendrix Anders of Florence, Alabama;five siblings, Linda Burns (Nolan) of Florence, Alabama, Marilyn Hines of Ideal, Georgia; Glenn Redding (Charita) of Ideal, Georgia; Carolyn Stanford (Gary) of Florence, Alabama and Robert Anders of Florence, Alabama; two grandchildren, Lincoln Johnson and Marah Johnson; several nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Thomas Redding and brother, George Anders.
