Cynthia Jean Green Head

Mrs. Cynthia “Jean” Green Head, 69, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away, Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman, Georgia. Rev. Tim Ferguson will officiate the service.

Jean was born in Quitman, Georgia to the late Luther D. Green and Gladys Francis King Green. Jean was preceded in death by her step-son, Cory Allen Head. Jean was the manager of Friedman’s Jewelers in Americus for many years.  Jean was also the manager at the Oglethorpe Senior Center in Oglethorpe, GA, before her retirement. Jean was a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Survivors include her loving husband, Harmon Head, Jr. of Oglethorpe, Georgia; a sister, Delores Bembry and husband Hiram of Tifton, Georgia; a brother, Larry Green and wife Deryl of Hahira, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Sara “Chuck” Clark Oglethorpe, GA and Alicia P. Head of Andersonville, Georgia; four nephews and two nieces also survive.
