Born on August 19, 1955 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Randol Jinks and Clarice Fowler Jinks, he was part of a family of seven children, including three sets of twins. He and his twin sister, Cathy, were the last twins born.

And they were all famous. The family was the subject of many stories, and on June 18, 1956, they were featured on the front page of The Atlanta Journal.

The first born was a single child, Carol Jinks, who became a second mother to the three sets of twins born later. In the Atlanta Journal story, Curtis’ mother, Clarice Jinks was interviewed. She told the reporter she had “done seven tubs of clothes” that day and averaged two loads every other day except Sunday.

Twins occur on both sides of their families, and she and her husband have found after they get out of babyhood, the twins just naturally  begin to help each other.  “Everybody takes an interest in the twins. They all know us,” she said. She also said there is never a dull moment of life with twins. “It’s a lot of fun and a lot of work.”

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carol Jinks Morrell, and his brother, Larry Jinks.

Curtis worked as a machinist at Mondelez International, Inc. for 19 years and at Southern Frozen Foods in Montezuma in the sweet potato plant as mechanic and supervisor. He retired in January 2019.

He was also a farmer all of his life, working first with his father and then on his own.

He loved the land and he loved farming, just as he loved his family, hunting and motorcycle riding.

He made annual trips to Sturgis, South Dakota with close friends on his Harley Davidson. The highlight of his life was riding his Harley from the East Coast to the West Coast and back with friends. They traveled more than 7,310 miles.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Law Jinks of Ideal; his daughter, Deven Jinks of Ideal, and his four-legged grandbaby, Lil bit; four siblings, Harry Jinks and his wife, Pat, of Blairsville, Connie Jinks Marshall of Ideal, Georgia, Bonnie Jinks Simmons of Oglethorpe, Georgia; and his twin sister, Cathy Jinks Layfield of Reynolds, Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
