Louie Hobbs, 81, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville. Family will have a time of visitation on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Rooks Funeral Home, 109 West White Road in Byron. Burial will be private.
Born in Macon County to the late G. C. Hobbs and Inez Grant Hobbs, Mr. Hobbs graduated from Macon County High School and retired from Blue Bird Body Company. In his early years, he worked at Bentley Construction Company and was a master brick layer and painter. He had been devoted to caring for his late wife Frances and taking her shopping. His family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of Whitewater Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Darrell Hobbs, Rodney Hobbs, Dave Goodwin (Cathy) and Dawn Lewis (Barry and Kate); 5 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brothers and sisters,  Larry Hobbs (Ann), Shirley Jones, Bobby Hobbs, Susan Tungate (Jim), Joyce Smith and Cheryl Dorsey (Larry); brothers in law, Gene Simmons and Dan Harrelson (Gwen); sister in law, Tonya Hobbs; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Hobbs, a son, Mark Goodwin, his first wife, Brenda Hobbs, sisters, Linda Simmons, Patricia Hortman, and Marjorie English, brothers, Terry Hobbs and Grover Hobbs, brothers in law, Freddie Jones, Clyde English, Ray Smith, and Brown Hortman, sisters in law, Dianne Hobbs and Alice Nell Hobbs, nephew, Frederick Jones and niece, Glenda English.
Rooks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
