Cheryl Dawn Carter (Cherry) passed away on August 5, 2024 at the age of 75. She was born on February 18, 1949, in Cordele, GA to parents Virgil and Jency Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Jency (Dee Dee) Carter, Candice Carter Page (Candy), and Cary Carter. Cherry is survived by her daughters Dawn Chandler (Jason) and Gypsy Garrett (Tony) as well as grandsons Noah, Weston, Adin, and Cole and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Charm Carter and her brother Kimble Tyson Carter (Kim).

Cherry was a retired teacher, having spent many years in the classroom teaching and mentoring students across numerous districts in Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Georgia Southern College. After retirement, she loved spending time with her family, reading, hats, and coffee.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church Montezuma GA located at 207 N Dooly Street, Montezuma, GA 31063
