Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 8 PM at the Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 20 at New Life Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA. Rev. Mark Poole, Rev. Tim Ferguson and Rev. Johnny Cook will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family is asked to assemble at the residence on Tuesday at 9:30 AM for the funeral procession to the church.
Cory was born on December 23, 1984 in Americus, GA to Harmon Head, Jr. and Renee Wright Fitzgerald. He was a 2003 graduate of Southland Academy and served four years in the United States Navy. He attended Pitts Church of God and enjoyed video games, drawing and raising dogs.
Survivors include his loving mother, Renee Fitzgerald of Rochelle, GA; father and step-mother, Harmon Head, Jr. and his wife Jean of Oglethorpe, GA; brother, Ethan Fitzgerald of Rochelle, GA; grandparents, Sonja Wright of Rochelle, GA, Harmon Head, Sr. of Ft. Valley, GA and Gladys Green of Quitman, GA; Several aunts and uncles, Sara (Glen) Clark of Oglethorpe, GA, Mickey (Alisha) Head of Andersonville, GA, Gladys Gregory of Pitts, GA, Larry (Daryl) Green of Hahira, GA, Delores (Hiram) Bembry of Tifton, GA, Regina (Randy) Scarborough of Omega, GA, Robin Wright of Rochelle, GA, Jimmy (Lynn) Wright of Rochelle, GA, Reatha (Johnny) Cook of Rochelle, GA; 12 cousins and 6 great grand-cousins and his loving dog, Dante also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to New Life Baptist Church, P.O. Box 673, Oglethorpe, GA 31068.
Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
